Does not work as a Scheduled Task

Hi,

I'm having difficulty getting S3.exe to run as a Scheduled Task (Windows Server 2008). It runs fine if I configure the task to "Run only when user is logged on", but when I choose "Run whether user is logged on or not" the program fails to upload. I see it sitting in the task manager list for about a minute and then quit.

Perhaps that the program is trying to open a GUI is what breaks it? Since I believe choosing "run [...] whether or not [...]" causes the program to execute in a different state that doesn't show any UI.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Could you try the /nogui option?  Please let me know if that fixes it for you.

Cheers,

Max

A ha. That's what I was looking for. I found it after the fact on the releases page, but it looks like it's missing from the Documentation page.

Thanks though. All working very well now.

Great stuff.  Looks like we might be able to automate switching off the UI in future: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.environment.userinteractive.aspx

I've made you an Editor on the project just in case you feel like updating the docs :)

Thanks for the review!

Nice find -- that UserInteractive property is good to know.

Thanks for the promote! I went ahead and filled in some docs on /nogui.
